Lady Hornets Tennis Travels to Chattanooga

Alabama State University's women's tennis team will be back in action for the first time since March 6 when they travel to the state of Tennessee to play at Chattanooga Wednesday March 18 at 2 p.m.

The Lady Hornets will face a hot Lady Mocs team that is off to one of its best starts in recent history.  Chattanooga stands 9-2 on the season with their two losses coming against #31 Tennessee (4-3) and #65 Middle Tennessee (5-2).

"They are a very good team," Head Coach Anuk Christiansz said.  "It has been a while since we have been on the court, but going up against this caliber of team will continue to make us a better team down the road."

ASU (5-6) has had a couple of matches postponed in the past week due to the weather so they are looking forward to getting back into action and with the second SWAC Round Up only a little over a week away they are needing to get back on the court.

"The weather has really hit us hard the past couple of weeks," Christiansz said.  "The girls were playing really well and were getting better every day and you could see that in their play.  We need to get some work in a competitive atmosphere before we get back to conference play and we know Chattanooga will help push us on the court to get better."

Live stats of the tennis match are scheduled to be carried and can be viewed at bamastatesports.com.
