The Alabama State women's basketball team will attempt to extend their winning streak to three, as they host in-state rival Alabama A&M Saturday, Jan. 16 at 3 p.m. in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

ASU (4-9, SWAC 2-2) is coming off the heels of defeating Arkansas – Pine Bluff 72-63 at home.

Alabama A&M (3-11, SWAC 2-2) enter the game coming off a 79-68 home victory over Mississippi Valley State and hold their streak of two wins.

This will be the 50
th match-up between the Lady Hornets and the Lady Bulldog, with ASU leading the series 28-21.

Previously the two last faced-off on February 14 during the 2015 season where the Lady Hornet triumphed over the Lady Bulldogs 64-52.

Britney Wright who leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game while grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game.

Wright needs just two points to secure here place with the all-time great Lady Hornets to become the 10
th player in ASU women basketball history to score 1000 career points.

Jasmine Peeples is fifth in all-time leaders in Lady Hornet's history in blocks with 152 and need 15 blocks to move to third. JP also needs just 13 more rebounds to clinch to become the 10
th all-time leading rebounder.

A&M is led by the surging preseason second team member Janie Myles, who scored 20 points with 6 rebounds in A&M's last game.

Myles leads A&M in scoring with 14.9 points per game and in rebounding with 8.8 per game.

ASU offense averages 60.5 points per game while connecting on 37.5% from the field.

A&M offense makes 37.8% but only averages 55.3 points per game.
