Â
Alabama State is 2-8 and 0-1 in SWAC play. The Lady Hornets come into the game versus the Tigers after suffering its first loss of the SWAC season, falling 70-69 in overtime to Jackson State.Â
"This is another big game for us on tomorrow," said head coach
Freda Freeman-Jackson. "After falling to Jackson State in overtime by one point, which was very disappointing, we will be looking to have the same kind of energy, but this time we hope that there will be a different result."
Â

Britney Wright led Alabama State with 22 points and nine rebounds versus Jackson. Wright ranks among the league leaders in several categories – seventh in scoring (12.6 ppg), sixth in rebounding (7.7) and her field-goal percentage (.500) is tied for sixth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Â
The meeting between these two teams will be the 75th meeting in the all-time series. The Tigers lead the series 42-32. The last time the two clubs met was during the 2015 SWAC Tournament as the Lady Hornets pushed pass the Tigers with a 65-62 win to enter them into the semi-final round.
