Alabama State put in dominating performances in all three stanzas to capture the team's 11
th SWAC victory of the season. ASU's record now stands at 14-8, 11-0 SWAC while GSU falls to 5-12, 3-8 SWAC.

"I am very pleased with how the team performed today," said head coach Penny Lucas White. "That's the team that we trained during the week. I think it was an all-out effort for everyone. We had a well balanced attack tonight. Niyesha, Krysta, and Bri just did a good job and like I said we just had an attack balance. Grambling has a great team and they are relentless in the defense and we had to tell our girls that we have to be ready to compete. They answered the call today and I am a happy coach."

Bayle Bennett tallied a season-high of four aces, senior
Jamie Coleman and
Kori Kutsch both recorded one ace apiece.

Justus Tuiolosega made good decisions in running the Lady Hornets offense that finished with its second highest hitting percentage of the season, .330, including a .414 clip in the third set. Tuiolosega finished with a match-high 26 assists, she also had five digs.

ASU had four players hit .300-or-better in Saturday's match, including Medearis (.316),
Candace Martin (.444), Dorsey (.467) and N. Brown (.474).

Coleman paced the Lady Hornets back row defense as she collected 16 digs, helping ASU to a 39-25 advantage in that category.

Alabama State will return to action next weekend when the team travels to Jackson State and Mississippi Valley. The Lady Hornets will face off against the Tigers at 6:30 on Friday evening before taking on the Devilettes on Saturday at 5 p.m.
