MUNCIE, Ind. – The Alabama State men's basketball team continued to struggle to find their shooting touch as the Hornets lost at Ball State 73-48 on John E. Worthen Court on Thursday night.Â
Alabama State (1-10) shot just 30 percent from the floor and failed to crack 50 points in a game for the third straight outing.Â
Tony Armstrong was strong in defeat for ASU as the forward made 6-of-11 from the floor to lead the Hornets with 12 points, nine rebounds, two steals and one block.Â
The Hornets got within four after a
Reginald Gee basket pulled ASU within 23-19 with 3:05 remaining in the first half, but the Cardinals (8-4) closed out the half on a strong note to lead 31-20 at halftime.
Demetrius Houston made a jumper to cut the lead to seven with 17:25 left in the second half, but that's as close as ASU would get as Ball State increased the lead to as many as 29.Â
Next, the Hornets will return home to take on Fort Valley State next Thursday, Dec. 29 from the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Â
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
