– The Alabama State University women's basketball team will look for revenge as they face Jackson State on Thursday, March 3
rd in the first of their two remaining regular season games. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

This penultimate regular season game will be the 74
st match-up between the two teams. Jackson state slightly leads the series 38-35 since the 1982 season. However, since the
Freda Freeman-Jackson era Alabama State holds a 22-12 advantage. Earlier this season, in the Lady Hornets contest against the Lady Tigers, ASU fell short in an epic overtime battle to JSU 70-69.

Alabama State enters Thursday's match-up with a 14-11 (12-4 SWAC) record after a 58-48 road victory over conference leader Texas Southern, ASU's second win over TSU this season. Jackson State enters the dome with a 13-14 (7-9 SWAC) record after falling to Arkansas Pine Bluff 66-59.

The Lady Tigers are led by sharpshooter Derica Wiggin's 12.2 points per-game. Wiggins leads the conference with 58 made three-pointers at a rate of 2.1 three-pointers per-game. JSU averages 63 points and 43.4 rebounds per-game.

In ASU's last victory over Texas Southern
Daniele Ewert led the team scoring a team-high 13 points, while
Britney Wright and
Ashanti Spencer scored 11 points each.
Jasmine Peeples added a game-high 11 rebounds along with nine points. Wright leads the Lady Hornets in scoring with 14.6 points per-game and is tied with Peeples at 7.8 rebounds per-game. As a team Alabama State average 62.7 points per-game and hold their opponents to 59.4 points per-game.
