MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University soccer team will be on the road for a pair of key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contests this weekend.

The Lady Hornets will travel to Louisiana to take on Grambling State Friday (October 13), with the match scheduled to start at 4 pm. They will continue their road trip to Arkansas-Pine Bluff where they will face the Lady Golden Lions on a game featured by the SWAC Digital Network. Kick is scheduled for 1 pm.

Alabama State (6-6, 4-1 SWAC) enters this weekend's competition after defeating Howard 4-1 on Friday night at the ASU Soccer Complex.

The match with Grambling State will be the eighth meeting between the schools since 2009, with Alabama State leading the series 6-2. In the last meeting, Alabama State claimed a 9-0 victory.

Grambling State currently leads the SWAC with a 4-0-1 record.

The match with Arkansas Pine-Bluff will mark the 10th meeting in eight years between the two, with the series tied at 5-all. The meeting will be the first time the teams have met since Alabama State's 2-1 win against UAPB in the 2016 SWAC championships.
