IOWA CITY | Reginald Gee paced three players in double figures for Alabama State, but it wasn't enough as Iowa had five players in double figures en route to a 92-58 victory at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Sunday afternoon.

Gee led Alabama State (0-2) with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers. He was also perfect from the free throw line, connecting on all three of his attempts.

Tobi Ewuosho and
Branden Johnson each added 13 points in the loss, with Ewuosho collecting the first double-double of his career with 10 rebounds. Johnson added seven rebounds, while Gee added eight.

Alabama State shot 37.5 (24-of-64) percent from the floor and 28.6 (4-of-14) percent from beyond the arc. The Hornets connected on 54.5 (6-of-11) percent from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, Cordell Pemsl paced Iowa (2-0) with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor, while Isaiah Moss added 12. Luka Garza recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds ,while Maishe Dailey added 11 and Tyler Cook 10 in the Hawkeyes' win.

Iowa ended the night shooting 47.1 (32-of-68) percent from the floor and 37.9 (11-of-29) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 51.5 (17-of-33) percent from the free throw line, while grabbing 53 rebounds.

Alabama State returns to action on the road at South Dakota State on Tuesday night, with tip beginning at 7 pm in Brookings.
