MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Fresh off finishing the conference regular season undefeated for the second consecutive season, the Alabama State University volleyball team hits the road Wednesday night to face Florida A&M University in the regular season finale.

Alabama State (25-9, 18-0 SWAC) has won 39 consecutive matches against conference opponents dating back to the 2015 conference championship match, and is the midst of a nine-match winning streak as they head south to face the Rattlers.

The Lady Hornets will take on a Florida A&M (10-11, 7-1 MEAC) fresh off a victory over Bethune-Cookman in conference action, and led by Maria Yvette Garcia with 241 kills (3.09/set). Nicole Abreu has added 208 kills and Candeleria Herrera 192 for Florida A&M this season. As a team, the Rattlers are .181 and have recorded 147 blocks defensively.

Meanwhile, Alabama State is led by senior
Ni'yesha Brown with 389 kills – which leads the conference, while
Briana Dorsey has recorded 304 and is hitting .401 (20th in the nation).
Bayle' Bennett has added 269 and
Krysta Medearis 243 for the Lady Hornets; who have recorded 1,534 kills this season.

Kori Kutsch and
Justus Tuiolosega have combined for 1,224 assists this season, with Kutsch leading the way with 752. Meanwhile, defensively,
Asha Daniels leads the team with 399 digs. Bennett (258), Kutsch (238) and Brown (236) are all over 200 digs this season, while Tuiolosega sits at 189.

At the net,
Briana Dorsey and
Payten Clark both appear in the national rankings in blocks. Dorsey has 118 total blocks this season and is third all-time at the school, while Clark has 106.

The Lady Hornets rank in the top five in the nation in both total kills (fourth) and service aces (fifth), while they are in the top 10 in opponent hitting percentage (eighth) and assists (ninth). They are also just outside the top 20 in total attacks and total blocks (21st in both).
