MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will play their final road game in the 2017 calendar year Tuesday night, facing UAB at Bartow Arena. Tip is set for 6 pm in the non-conference matchup.

Alabama State (1-8) is coming off a 79-31 loss to Miami (Fla.) Friday night, and is looking for their first road win of the season as they face the Blazers.
Keimeshia Walker made her season debut, after transferring from Cal State-Fullerton, for the Lady Hornets on Friday and responded with a team-high 12 points. Freshman
Aliyah Nelson came off the bench to grab a team-high seven rebounds in her return trip to her home state.

While Walker led the team in scoring Friday night,
Shamyiah Smith is among the team leader in several categories including minutes played at 24.9 minutes per game. She is also averaging 6.7 points and 3.2 assists per game, while
Kayla Stephens is averaging 5.7 points per game.

UAB (8-2) enters the contest having won five of their six games, including an 85-58 victory over Alabama A&M Sunday afternoon. Deanna Kuzmanic led the Blazers with 23 points in the win, while Miyah Barnes added 16 and Angela Vendrell 11.

Rachel Childress leads three players in double figures on the season at 13.9 points per game, while Kuzmanic is at 13.3 and Barnes at 11.6 through 10 games. Four players average four-plus rebounds per game for the Blazers, but Vendrell leads the way with 6.5 per game and Kara Rawls is averaging 5.8 per game.

The two have met a total of 22 times in school history, with UAB holding a 17-5 advantage in the series. The two last met in 2012 (November 24) at the Samford Thanksgiving Classic, with UAB claiming a 74-41 victory.
