MACON, Ga. – The Alabama State University women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision to Mercer University on the road Sunday afternoon.
Mercer ended the match with three singles victories after picking up the doubles point against the Lady Hornets. Despite dropping the doubles point, the Lady Hornets picked up a win as the number three team of
Gabriela Lackova and
Marija Blazevic were able to pick up a 6-4 victory. Alabama State narrowly missed out on the point as the number two doubles team of
Brankica Orlovic and
Mirna Curcic dropped a heartbreaking 7-5 match.
The match ended in singles play as Mercer picked up wins at number one, three and four; while
Marine Cartier forced a third set at number two singles before the match was called.
