MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University women's tennis team looks to stay undefeated in conference play and end a three-match losing streak, as they play host to the second SWAC Roundup of the season at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center beginning Friday morning.
 
Alabama State (7-7, 5-0 SWAC) looks to remain undefeated in conference play after reeling off five straight SWAC wins, and dropping just five points in the process. The Lady Hornets have won a pair of matches 4-0 (Alabama A&M and Arkansas-Pine Bluff), and two more 4-1 (Prairie View A&M and Southern). Their toughest conference match to date came in the first roundup against Jackson State, a match won 4-3 by Alabama State.
 
The Lady Hornets look to end a three-match losing streak as they open play in the Roundup against Mississippi Valley State (1-8, 0-3 SWAC) at 9 am Friday. It will be the first meeting of the year between the two programs headed in opposite directions. They will then face Alcorn State (4-11, 2-2 SWAC) at 2 pm Friday, a team that has played two common opponents of the Lady Hornets – lost 4-3 to Jackson State and defeated Alabama A&M 4-0.
 
Alabama State will open play Saturday morning against Grambling (3-8, 3-1 SWAC) at 9 am Saturday; with the final match for Alabama State will be at 5 pm on Saturday against Alabama A&M (4-15, 2-5 SWAC), a team that the Lady Hornets have already played and beaten 4-0 this season. Prior to the match, the Lady Hornets will celebrate Senior Day with 
Marine Cartier and 
Brankica Orlovic playing their final home match of their careers.
 
The Roundup will begin at 9 am Friday and roll into Saturday, with free admission at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
