ATLANTA – The Alabama State University women's tennis team season concluded Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to eighth-seeded Georgia Tech in the Atlanta Regional.
Alabama State (13-9) dropped the doubles point after dropping matches at number two and three on the afternoon. The number three doubles team of
Brankica Orlovic and
Marija Blazevic dropped a 6-3 match to the Georgia Tech duo of Luca Fabian and Nami Otsuka; while the number two team of
Gabriela Lackova and
Mirna Curcic dropped a 6-3 decision to 23rd-ranked Rasheeda McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud, 6-3.
Meanwhile, the number one team of
Marine Cartier and
Reka Szentes were tied 4-all with 29th-ranked Kenya Jones and Paige Hourigan to close out play.
In singles, the Yellow Jackets claimed victories at number one (6-1, 6-0), number six (6-0, 6-0) and number three (6-1, 6-0) to claim the match.
