LORMAN, Miss. | Reginald Gee led three players in double figures for Alabama State, but it wasn't enough to overcome the hot-shooting of Alcorn State as the Hornets fell 81-64 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action at the Whitney Center Monday night.

Gee led Alabama State (3-16, 3-4 SWAC) with 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor and knocked down four three-pointers. He also finished four rebounds and a pair of assists. Meanwhile,
Rodney Simeon finished with a season-high 17 points on 50 (5-of-10) percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Brandon Johnson chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets who shot 37.3 (19-of-51) percent from the floor and 35.7 (10-of-28) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 72.2 (16-of-22) percent from the free throw line.

The Hornets shot 52.6 (10-of-19) percent from the floor in the first half, and 50 (4-of-8) percent from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, A.J. Mosby led Alcorn State with 19 points and four steals, while Maurice Howard added 17 off the bench on three three-pointers. Avery Patterson added 11 and Troymain Crosby 10 for the Braves who finished the night shooting 49.1 (27-of-55) percent from the floor and 34.8 (8-of-23) percent from beyond the arc.
