MONTGOMERY, ALA. | Alabama State closes out the regular season Wednesday night at 6 pm with a non-conference match against Florida A&M from Lockhart Gymnasium.

Seniors Kori Kutsch, Candace Martin and Kayla Torres will be honored as a part of senior night festivities. Each player has proved instrumental in the Lady Hornets run of success during their four years at Alabama State. The trio has been a part of 73 Southwestern Athletic Conference wins (18.25 conference wins per year), 92 overall wins, two regular season conference championships, two perfect SWAC regular seasons and two NCAA appearances.

Kutsch has had another strong campaign and has 3,107 career assists and additionally leads the club with 41 service aces in 2018. Martin, the team captain for two years running, is closing in on 300 career blocks (291) and is third in the SWAC this year with a .275 attack percentage. Torres leads Alabama State with 385 digs (713 career) and is sixth in the conference at 3.18 digs per set.

Florida A&M (8-14, 7-1 MEAC) enters the meeting sporting the top record in the Southern division of the MEAC and has won five straight matches. The Lady Rattlers are led by Maria Yvett Garcia (300 kills, 3.95 kills per set). Defensively, Valentina Carrasco (307 digs) and Aybuke Kocabiyik (69 total blocks) leads the charge. Alabama State dropped a tightly-contested five-set match against Florida A&M in 2017.
