MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will play its final home game of the 2018 calendar year Sunday afternoon with a 3 pm tip against UAB inside of Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
 
Alabama State (1-7) is coming off a 77-65 loss to South Alabama last Sunday and is looking for its second home win of the season. Ayana Emmanuel led three Lady Hornets in double figures with 16 points, while Jayla Crawford added 13 and Shmya Ward chipped in 10.
 
Emmanuel is the team leader in several categories, including minutes played at 28.1 minutes per game. She is also averaging 12.5 points and 1.3 steals per game, while Crawford is averaging 10.5 points per game. Ward leads the team in rebounding at 6.7 per contest.
 
UAB (8-1) enters the contest having won the past four games, including an 91-48 victory over McNeese State last Saturday afternoon. Katelynn Thomas led the Blazers with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the win, while Deanna Kuzmanic added 10 points and 11 assists.
 
Rachael Childress leads three players in double figures at 14.8 points per game, while Kuzmanic averages 13.6 and Thomas 13.1 through nine games. Five players average four-plus rebounds per game for the Blazers, but Thomas leads the way with 6.3 per game and Trista Magee is averaging 6.2 per game.
 
The two have met a total of 23 times in school history, with UAB holding an 18-5 advantage in the series. The two last met last season (Dec. 19) with UAB claiming a 61-44 victory.
