Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State dropped a 4-1 non-conference decision to Jacksonville State at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Sunday morning in their fifth match this season.
Alabama State (1-4) dropped the doubles point after dropping a 6-4 decision when the top doubles team of
Gabriela Lackova and
Lea Krajcovicova; while Jacksonville State was able to clinch the point when
Reka Szentes and
Chloe Kabamba fell in their match.
The lone Lady Hornet point came from the number two singles when Kabamba was able to defeat Alessia Locati, 6-2, 6-1.
Mirna Curcic put up a fight at number four singles but she ultimately fell 6-3, 4-6, 6-0. There were two matches left unfinished as the match was decided, one was in the second while the other was in the third set.
Alabama State returns to action tomorrow when they host rival Alabama A&M. The match is scheduled to tip at 2:00 pm at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
