Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State picked up their first conference win of the season, sweeping in-state rival Alabama A&M 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
Alabama State (2-4) picked up the doubles point after winning the only two matches completed. The number two doubles team of
Reka Szentes and
Chloe Kabamba defeated Alabama A&M's Sharre Smith and Jazmine Lawson, 6-0, before the number three team of Mirna Curci and
Marija Blazevic picked up a 6-0 victory over Ayana Kawai Rengiil and Nthabiseng Mashego.
At number three singles,
Gabriela Lackova picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory which was matched by Curci at number four.
Margo Muller earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Lawson, while at number five,
Lea Krajcovicova defeated Mashego 6-0, 6-1.
Alabama State returns to action Friday when they face Southern on the road on the first day of the SWAC Roundup. The match is scheduled to start at 9 am at the SU University Courts in Baton Rouge.
