Box Score HATTIESBURG, Miss. | Alabama State dropped a 4-3 non-conference decision to West Alabama at the USM Tennis Facility Saturday morning in their third match this season.
 
Alabama State (0-3) dropped the doubles point after dropping a 6-4 decision when the top doubles team of Gabriela Lackova and Lea Krajcovicova to Katia De La Garaza and Georgina Salom of West Alabama; after dropping the number three doubles match to start.
 
Trailing 1-0 overall, Alabama State was able to battle back with three singles victories to force a deciding match at number three singles.

At number singles, Chloe Kabamba defeated Evelyn Moreno of West Alabama 6-1, 6-4; while at number four, Mirna Curcic defeated Georgina Salom, 6-2, 6-1. Lea Krajcovicova picked up the win at number five singles, defeating Liliana Araucz, 6-0, 6-1 and that match was evened at 3-all.
 
The deciding point came at number three singles where Lackova battled back after dropping the first set. She battled back to even the match at 6-4, 6-2 to force the match to a third set, where she fell 7-6.

Alabama State returns to action against Alabama A&M Saturday, February 10, in conference action with the match scheduled for 10 am.
