MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State picked up their third consecutive win of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Roundup with 4-0 win over Grambling State University.

Alabama State (9-7) jumped ahead in the match after winning the first doubles match, winning at number one and three for the point to take a 1-0 lead. The team of Reka Szentes and Chloe Kambaba picked up a 6-2 win at number one doubles and send it to number three for the point At number three, the team of Marija Blazevic and Mirnia Curcic defeated the Grambling State team of Tanyaradzwa Magunje and Keren Muwere, 6-0, to give the Hornets the point.
 
In singles play, after Grambling State controlled the match at 1-0, Szentes picked up a 6-4, 6-0 victory at number one singles. Lea Krajcovicova picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number four singles.
 
The match was clinched when Blazevic earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory at number five.
 
Alabama State returns to action Sunday morning against rival Jackson State at 9 am, before facing Alabama A&M at 3 pm at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
