Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a hard-fought 4-3 non-conference decision to Nicholls State at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Courts Saturday morning.

Alabama State (4-5) dropped the doubles point despite a 6-4 victory from top doubles team ofÂ
Reka Szentes and Chloe Kambaba, over Ling Gu and Stephanie Barnett of Nicholls State; number two and three doubles suffered 6-4 setbacks.

Trailing 1-0 overall, Alabama State was able to battle back with three singles victories to force a deciding match at number one singles.
At number four singles,Â
Mirna Curcic defeated Marina Vigil 6-3, 0-6, 6-2; while at number six,Â
Marija Blazevic defeated Anna Kuzevanova, 7-5, 6-2.
Lea Krajcovicova picked up the win at number five singles, defeating Changwei Wei, 6-2, 6-0 and the overall match became even at 3-all.

The deciding point came at number one singles where Szentes won 7-6 in the first set, before dropping the final two sets of the match 6-3, 7-6.
Alabama State returns to action next weekend, March 16-17, when they host the SWAC Roundup at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Courts.
