Hunter Allen, his third RBI of the day, to give the Hornets a 6-5 lead.
Alabama State scored all six of their runs with two outs, beginning with a solo home run by
Ray Hernandez with two outs in the first for the 1-0 lead. Mississippi Valley State was able to take the lead with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the inning, the first of five unearned runs on the day for the Delta Devils.
Cage Cox delivered a two-out single in the third to tie the game at 2-all as he scored
Joseph Estrada. The Hornets added two more runs in the inning when Allen doubles home Rios and Cox for a 5-3 lead. Mississippi Valley State was able to get a pair of runs in the fifth to take a 5-4 lead, before Alabama State was able to tie it in the sixth.
