MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State continues Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at home on Saturday afternoon when Alcorn State comes to town. Tip-off inside of Dunn-Oliver Acadome is scheduled for 3 pm. Audio coverage will be provided by the Hornets Sports Network beginning at 2:45 pm.
 
Alabama State (4-12, 3-2 SWAC) enters the game after defeating rival Alabama A&M 60-46 last Saturday. 
Ayana Emmanuel paved the way for the Lady Hornets with 16 points, while 
Shmya Ward added 11 and 
Jayla Crawford chipped in 12.
 
Alcorn State (3-15, 2-4 SWAC) suffered a heartbreaking 59-57 loss to Arkansas Pine-Bluff last week in which Jada Hargrove matched her career-high 17 points. Diamond Hall and De'Asia Brown each added 10 points in the loss.

	- Alabama State invites all the Greeks on campus to the doubleheader to be recognized.
 
A LOOK INSIDE THE LADY HORNETS
	- Emmanuel continues to lead the Lady Hornets' offense and is third in the conference in scoring at 13.6 points per game.
 
	- Crawford averages 11.9 points per game, while Ward is second in the conference in rebounding at 7.4 per game to go along with 10.4 points.
 
	- Alabama State is averaging 54.3 points and pulling down 38.4 rebounds per contest.
 
	- A win over Alcorn could potentially place Alabama State in the top three in the conference.
 
 
ALL ABOUT ALCORN
	- The Lady Braves are led by Brown with 11.6 points per game, while Hargrove adds 9.7 points.
 
	- Toddriana Isler leads the defense with 6.8 rebounds and also chips in with 8.8 points. Charisma Walker averages 8.6 points to go along with 6.2 rebounds.
 
	- Elexis Evans is averaging 7.3 points and 5.6 rebounds, while Lazurea Saunders leads the Lady Braves in rebounding at 6.0 per game to go along with 7.1 points.
 
	- Alcorn defeated Mississippi Valley State, 73-63, prior to losing to UAPB; Jamaysha Bernard led the Lady Braves with 17 points and 17 rebounds, a tie for the most by a student-athlete in the SWAC in a single-game this season.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
	- Alcorn swept the regular season series last year for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
 
	- In their last meeting (Feb. 19), the Lady Hornets battled back from a 17-point deficit, falling 65-57 on the road.
 
	- The game featured five ties and 12 lead changes and Areleatha Gipson finished with 10 points in the loss. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT
	- The Lady Hornets will continue their home stand on Monday against Southern. Tip is set for 5:30 pm inside of Dunn-Oliver Acadome where Alabama State turns back the clock for Soul Train night.
