Lady Hornets open at home in first two matches of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State opens defense of its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship at home Friday, hosting Point at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.

The Lady Hornets, who have finished undefeated in conference play the last two years, play six of their first eight matches at home – including back-to-back matches this month. Alabama State will send an experienced team to the courts, with five of their six starters returning this season, and the Lady Hornets added experience with a transfer to go along with a pair of true freshmen for the upcoming season.

The match begins at 1 pm on the campus of Alabama State University. The Lady Hornets were scheduled to play West Alabama in the home opener, but the match was moved to January 31 due to weather.
