QUOTABLES - Head Coach Freda Freeman-Jackson

On facing a tough pre-conference schedule: "We were hoping to pick up a win against one of the mid-major teams we faced earlier this season, but it seems like everyone is having one of their best starts this year. We just want our girls to stay positive and my coaching staff has been doing their best to keep their confidence high."

On freshmen play: "I know this season is going to be tough because we have a lot of freshmen that we are relying on, but I know they can compete with anyone in the SWAC. It's just a matter of us being able to play when the game is tight. We need better decision making, being able to play when fatigued and taking plays off are things we need to work on, and when we do, we will be very special."

On Emmanuel: "She can play as a combo guard and it was good to see her ability to score since we didn't get an opportunity in preseason play. She just has that mindset that she is going to score and we will continue to look to her offensively this season."
