Montgomery, Ala. – Alabama State volleyball will head to Jackson, Miss., to take part in the Southwestern Athletic Conference East Roundup held at the Jackson Convention Complex from Friday through Sunday.

The Lady Hornets open the roundup against Prairie View A&M (12:30 p.m.) and UAPB (3 p.m.) on Friday before playing Southern (12:30 p.m.) and Texas Southern (7 p.m.) on Saturday. Alabama State wraps up action on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against Grambling State.

In the last roundup, Alabama State finished 1-4 with its sole win coming against Grambling State, 3-0. Since the West Roundup, the Lady Hornets are 3-1 in conference with all of their conference wins being 3-0 sweeps.

In its most recent contest, Alabama State went into a hostile Alabama A&M gymnasium and left with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-21) win on Friday night. The Lady Hornets hit .250 with 45 kills while holding the Bulldogs to a .148 despite Alabama A&M going into the match averaging a league-best .231 percentage.

In the match, seniorÂ
Bayle' Bennett recorded her 12th double double of the season with a game-high tying 11 kills and 10 digs. Fellow seniorÂ
Krysta Medearis posted 11 kills (.231 hitting) with a game-high five blocks including three solos.

Junior
McKenzie Boland tallied a career- and game-high 39 assists with six digs, a block assist, a service ace and snuck in two kills. Boland set the offense to a .250 hitting percentage allowing her to be named SWAC Setter of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

On the season, Bennett leads the way with 267 total kills averaging 3.00 per set alongside the second-most digs (243, 2.73/set) and service aces (24) on the team. Medearis follows behind with 195 kills on a .251 hitting percentage with the third-most blocks on the team at 38 including seven solos.

Junior
E'laisah Young poses as an all-around threat as she has 160 kills with a blistering .335 hitting percentage, 16 service aces, 53 digs and a team-high 57 blocks including 15 solos.

Defensively, freshman
Emersen Belles leads the team with 320 digs (3.76/set) while also leading the team in service aces with 26. Freshman
Madison Beasley paces the offense with 467 assists averaging 5.31/set.
