Tied at 17-all heading into the second quarter, Paine dropped 23 points on an efficient 10-of-19 shooting (52.6 percent) from the field helping the Lions take a one-point lead (40-39) at the half. Alabama State stuck with the Lions in the second, connecting on 3-of-4 (75 percent) three-pointers and knocking down 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) from the charity stripe.

Alabama State found its offensive rhythm in the third quarter putting up a game-high 25 points while limiting Paine to just eight points to create enough space to secure the win.
