MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a 6-1 decision to Troy at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon.
Inside the Women's Match
Troy picked up the doubles point with wins at number one and number two doubles via identical 6-3 wins.
Worthy Goldman and
Maria Popova competed well on number three, pushing Troy to a 6-4 decision.
Reka Szentes fell in a competitive match on number one, dropping the point to Troy's Matea Mihaljevic 4-6, 5-7.
The Lady Hornets picked up singles victory at number six when Popova defeated Maria Casas Blas 6-2, 7-5.
Senior
Lea Krajcovicova competed admirably on number two before ultimately falling to Tingting Pei (7-5, 6-1).
Gabriela Lackova and
Urska Velec came up short in their respective matches despite combining for six set points. Troy was victorious on number five (Goldman) with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
