LORMAN, Miss. | Alabama State looks to complete the regular season series sweep of Alcorn State as the teams meet Saturday at 3 pm with the Lady Hornets looking to maintain their standing near the top of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings.
The Lady Hornets (9-14, 8-4 SWAC) are coming off a 65-57 loss to Alabama A&M in which
Jayla Crawford led Alabama State with 20 points and
Shmya Ward finished with 13.
Alcorn (4-21, 3-10 SWAC) enters the game following a 66-57 loss to Arkansas Pine-Bluff where Jada Hargrove registered a game-high 14 points and De'Asia Brown chipped in 12.
A LOOK AT THE LADY HORNETS
- Ayana Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets offense at 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, followed by Crawford at 12.3 points and 2.8 boards per game
- Ward is third in the conference in rebounding, hauling in 7.5 per game to go along with 10.0 points.
- Alabama State is second in the conference in rebounding, averaging 40.7 per game.
SCOUTING THE LADY BRAVES
- The Lady Braves are averaging 58.2 points per game, while its opponents are averaging 73.7 points.
- Brown leads the Alcorn offense at 12.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, followed by Hargrove at 10.6 points and 3.7 boards per game.
- Toddriana Isler averages 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest, while Charisma Walker is at 8.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

- Alabama State defeated the Lady Braves 76-63 on Jan. 26 in which five players scored in double figures for Alabama State.
- The Lady Hornets finished the night shooting 47.5 percent from the floor, a team-high.
