@BamaStateWBB faces Jackson State in quarterfinals

Lady Hornets are currently the sixth seed in the conference

Jackson, Miss. | Alabama State opens play in the Toyota Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Basketball Tournament quarterfinals as the sixth-seed facing third-ranked Jackson State, Tuesday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletic & Activity Center.
 
The game tips off at 6 pm with audio coverage provided by the Hornets Sports Network.
 
Alabama State (11-18, 10-8 SWAC) and Jackson State (16-13, 12-6 SWAC) squared off Saturday in their final regular season game, with the Lady Tigers coming away with a 78-58 win. Jayla Crawford led the Lady Hornets with 14 points and four rebounds, while Tyesha Rudolph and Tatyana Calhoun each added eight points in the loss.
 
Jackson State was led in scoring by Christina Ellis with 18 points, Sumer Williams with 12 and Marniesha Hamer finished with ten points and six rebounds in the win.

  • Ayana Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets offense, averaging 13.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while Jayla Crawford is at 12.1 points.
