Alexis Sydnor to tie the game at 1-all, and scored the game-winning run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly from
Casey Durham to score
Marina Clark from third.
Sydnor went 3-for-3 on the day with a run scored and an RBI, while
Aimee Felices finished 2-of-2.
Marina Clark scored the only other run of the game for Alabama State, while
Casey Durham collected an RBI.
Justine Jean (5-5) picked up the win, pitching a complete game and scattering seven hits. She allowed one run (an earned run), walked a pair and struck out four. Ja'Lynn Bonner picked up the loss for Grambling State in a complete game effort as she allowed two runs off of 10 hits.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon in a doubleheader at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex, with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
