PINE BLUFF, Ark. | For the third consecutive season, Alabama State finished the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) portion undefeated with a 4-1 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday afternoon.
Alabama State (8-8, 6-0 SWAC) needed just three points to win the match before it began as UAPB gave up one spot in singles play due to a forfeit. The Hornets picked up the doubles point when the number two team of
Alejo Calvis and
Andrej Trajkovski picked up a win at number two doubles to give Alabama State a 2-0 lead.
UAPB was able to get a win at number four singles, before
Chris Andre (number two) and Calvis (number three) picked up singles wins to seal the victory.
