MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State pushed their conference winning streak to two-plus years with a sweep of Alabama A&M, 4-0, at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.

Alabama State (4-8, 2-0 SWAC) got off to an early start with the doubles point behind the play at numbers two and three doubles. The number two team of Juan Rodriguez and Chris Andre picked up a 6-1 victory, before the number three team of Tomas Fernandez and Carl-Louis Luckmann picked up a 7-6 victory to seal the point for the Hornets.

They wasted little time in singles, getting a 6-3, 6-0 victory from Ion Efrim over Alabama A&M's Hsiang Yi Wang; before Fernandez posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at number four singles.

Chris Andre clinched the match for Alabama State at number two singles with a 6-3, 7-5 victory Nishangan Nadaraja.

Alabama State returns to action March 13 at home against Mississippi Valley State in the second SWAC Pod of the season. The Pod will be hosted at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center and Montgomery's Lagoon Park.
