CHICAGO, Ill. | For the second time this season, Alabama State freshman
Irshaad Davis was named honorable mention STATS FCS Freshman of the Week for his performance against Grambling State.
Davis finished with seven tackles in a 23-20 victory over Grambling State. He finished with four solo stops, and 0.5 tackles for loss. Davis also recorded a pass breakup from his safety position. The freshman earned the honor the first time this season following his performance against UAB in the season opener in which he forced a pair of fumbles.
Alabama State is off this week and will return to action October 5 against Alcorn State at ASU Stadium with kick set for 2 pm. The game will be carried by the Hornet Sports Network, beginning with pregame at 1:30 pm.
