Chicago, Ill. – In its last match of the Windy City Collegiate Volleyball Invitational, Alabama State suffered a tough 3-0 (18-25, 13-25, 20-25) loss to Cal State Fullerton in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday morning.

The Lady Hornets (3-4) struggled wire-to-wire posting a .052 hitting percentage and only securing 29 kills while the Titans (5-1) racked up 44 kills and were named the Windy City Collegiate Volleyball Champions after a perfect 3-0 weekend.

Bayle' Bennett posted a double double with a team-high 14 kills and 11 digs. Freshman
Emersen Belles and junior
Alex Wiggins joined Bennett in double digit digs with 11 and 10, respectively. Freshman
Madison Beasley finished with a match-high 25 assists.

Set One (Alabama State 18, Cal State Fullerton 25)
Alabama State could not overcome Cal State Fullerton's daunting defense as the Titans' forced 11 errors while only allowing 10 kills. Bennett tallied eight of the Lady Hornets' 10 kills with a .222 hitting percentage.

Set Two (Alabama State 13, Cal State Fullerton 25)
Once again, the Cal State Fullerton defense halted any hopes for Alabama State as the Lady Hornets only racked up nine kills with eight errors. Additionally, the Titans hit a blistering .379 with 14 kills.

Set Three (Alabama State 20, Cal State Fullerton 25)
The Lady Hornets stuck with the Titans for majority of the set until Cal State Fullerton ran away at the end. Junior
E'laisah Young went a perfect 4-for-4 on attacks while Bennett recorded three kills and six digs in the set.

Up Next
Alabama State will have the week off and resume action at the Saluki Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Carbondale, Ill. The Lady Hornets will face Memphis (10 a.m.) and IUPUI (5 p.m.) on Friday and host Southern Illinois (1:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
