MONTGOMERY, Ala. | After a near four-hour rain delay, Alabama State fell to Mississippi State 4-0 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.
Due to the delay, the teams began play with singles with Mississippi State winning all four matches in straight sets. The Bulldogs were able to claim a 6-2, 6-2 win at number one singles when Magda Adaloglou defeated Alabama State's
Madalena Andrade; while Alexandria Mikhaliuk defeated Alabama State's
Maria Popova 6-2, 6-0 at number two singles.
Urska Velec fell 6-0, 6-3 at number three singles, and
Victoria Cabral fell 6-0, 6-2 at number six.
Alabama State returns to action February 21 against Southern at the SWAC Pod hosted by Jackson State to open Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play.
