@BamaStateBB named Large School Champion by Black College Nines

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Although the 2020 season was cut short, Black College Nines named their Historically Black Colleges and University champions by the polling committee in both the small school and large school division.

Alabama State (14-4, 3-0 SWAC) topped the voting in the "large school" division in the final poll, claiming the top spot for the third time in the last six years. The Hornets won back-to-back championships from 2015-16. This season, the Hornets were undefeated in conference play and had an HBCU-best seven-game winning streak on the season.

The top five featured Jackson State, North Carolina A&T, Southern and Texas Southern; while the remainder of the poll featured Alcorn State, Grambling State, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina Central and Florida A&M.
