Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama State won their 34th consecutive match against Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) competition, picking up a 4-2 victory over Alabama A&M Saturday afternoon.
Alabama State (4-4, 3-0 SWAC), with the win has won 41 consecutive regular conference matches dating back to 2015. The Lady Hornets picked up the doubles point when the number two and three teams picked up wins led by the number two doubles team of
Urska Velec and
Bea Acena with a 6-1 win. The number three team of
Madalena Andrade and
Maria Popova picked up a 6-3 win to grab the point.
The Lady Hornets picked up wins at number four, five and clinched the match at number six when Kutacova picked up a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Nthabiseng Mashego.
Alabama State returns to action Sunday at North Alabama in Florence (Ala.).
