FLORENCE, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a non-conference match to North Alabama 4-1 on the road Sunday afternoon, ending a streak of three wins in four matches for the Lady Hornets.

Alabama State (4-5) dropped the doubles' point following a pair of victories by North Alabama including at number where the team of Payton Andrews and Megan Humphreys defeated the Alabama State team of Vivien Kutacova and Marija Blazevic 6-2. North Alabama was able to win at number three to claim the doubles' point, while the Lady Hornets team of Urska Velec and Bea Acena trailed 4-3 before the match was halted.

In singles play, North Alabama claimed three victories to help clinch the match, however, Madalena Andrade was able to pick up a win for Alabama State over Sydney Flesch 6-4, 6-4. Although the match was halted with two to play, both of those matches were in the third set including at number four where Kutacova led Nina Link of North Alabama 6-3, 1-6, 2-1.

Alabama State returns to action Tuesday at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center, hosting SIUE. The match is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm, and admission to all home tennis matches is free.
