MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road for the second time in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play this weekend to face No. 25 Jackson State, with kick set for 2:05 pm.
Alabama State (3-2, 2-1 SWAC) enters the weekend off a 35-15 victory over defending SWAC West Division champion UAPB, while Jackson State (4-1, 2-0 SWAC) enters after a 61-15 victory over defending SWAC champion Alabama A&M. The meeting will be the second in eight months between the two after meeting in March at ASU Stadium.

GAME NOTES
- The game against Jackson State will be the second meeting with a ranked team this season for Alabama State after the Hornets played No. 22 Auburn (FBS) in September. The last time the Hornets played a team ranked from the SWAC was Jackson State in the spring.
- The last time Alabama State played two ranked teams in the same season came in 2018 when the Hornets faced No. 7 Auburn (FBS) and No. 8 Kennesaw State (FCS) in back-to-back weeks.
- Freshman Myles Crawley (Tucker, Ga.) got his first collegiate start on Saturday against UAPB and responded by going 20-for-28 for 292 yards and four touchdowns.
- Redshirt sophomore Jeremiah Hixon (Monroeville, Ala.) had his second 100-yard game of the season and recorded a pair of touchdowns against UAPB.
- In the spring contest, senior Ezra Gray (Lynn Haven, Fla.) rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns, to help Alabama State pull off the win at home.
- Irshaad Davis (Carol City, Fla.) leads Alabama State with 32 tackles including 16 solo on the year. He has also recorded 3.5 tackles for loss, picked off one pass, forced a fumble, and recovered a fumble this year.
- Nicholas Terry (Youngstown, Ohio) has recorded 20 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and has two fumble recoveries this season.
- Alabama State blocked a pair of field goals against UAPB on Saturday, running their total to three on the season after blocking an extra point against Miles in the season opener. Keenan Isaac (Midfield, Ala.) also returned an onside kick attempt 37 yards for a touchdown last week.
