PINE BLUFF, Ark. | Alabama State (5-7-2, 4-2 SWAC) defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-0 in enemy territory Sunday afternoon in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action to split their two games of the weekend road trip.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama State drew first blood in the 23rd minute when Isabella Beortegui (Santa Ana, Calif.) scored her fourth goal of the season off a shot to the top left corner off the assist by McKenna Wiscombe (Orem, Utah).
- The Hornets later added to their total seven minutes later when Janae Brown (Orlando, Fla.) scored her first goal of the season, putting it in off the assist from Sunny Bowlin-Stacy (Anchorage, AK).
- In the second half, Wiscombe added another goal in the 54th minute of competition, her third of the season, off the Kassandra Schoen (St. Michaels, Minn.) assist.
- The final goal of the game came as Natalie Freeman scored in the 87th minute of regulation for the Golden Lions to make the score 3-1.
