Alabama State to take part in SWAC Cluster in Tallahassee

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will get set to take on three conference opponents in a two-day span at the Al Lawson Center, hosted by Florida A&M in Tallahassee over the weekend.

The Lady Hornets will take on Southern and Prairie View A&M on Sunday, October 10 at 11 am and 3 pm respectively, before closing out the cluster against Alcorn State on Monday at 11 am.

GAME NOTES
  • The Lady Hornets are coming off a four-game home stretch in which they defeated Alabama A&M, Auburn and Mississippi Valley State before falling to Jackson State.
  • Alabama State and Southern have faced off a total of 23 times under Coach White and hold an 18-5 record during that span including winning 15 of the last 17 matches.
  • The Hornets have never lost to the Braves of Alcorn State under Coach White, leading the series 19-0 since 2011. The last loss for Alabama State in the series was a 3-2 match on November 4, 2006.
  • Alabama State has only lost to Prairie View A&M twice since Coach White's first season in 2010. The Hornets lead the series under her leadership 16-4 in 20 matches.
  • Jada Rhodes (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Kalysia Bates (Phenix City, Ala.) have both surpassed 100 kills so far this season, with Rhodes leading team with 149 along with 111 digs (167.0 points), while Bates has logged 112 kills and a team-leading 168.0 total points.
  • Gilbert, Arizona natives Madison Beasley and Emersen Belles have also performed well this season, as Beasley has a team-high 251 assists and Belles has a team-high 137 digs.
