Alabama State host pair of matches this weekend to close out regular season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State (14-15, 11-3 SWAC) will host Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M in their final two games of the regular season in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
 
The Hornets will face off against the Wildcats on Friday, November 12 at 6 pm, before playing the Rattlers on Sunday, November 14 at 4 pm to celebrate senior McKenzie Boland (Stockbridge, Ga.) in the final home match of her career.

GAME NOTES
  • Sophomore Jada Rhodes (Tallahassee, Fla.) leads Alabama State with 271 kills – good for third in the conference – along with 220 digs, 24 blocks and 21 aces on the year.
  • Middle Blocker Kalysia Bates (Phenix City, Ala.) is third in the conference in points at 331 and leads the team. The junior has also added 248 kills and 64 digs along with team-highs of 87 blocks and 40 aces.
  • Juniors Alexis Ratliff (Atlanta, Ga.) and Mahogany Vinson (Richton Park, Ill.) join Bates and Rhodes as the four Hornets who have logged at least 100 kills, with Ratliff also recording totals of 163.5 points and 20 blocks in 12 starts and Vinson recording 72 blocks and 229 total points on the season.
  • Both Alabama State setters have dished out over 450 assists, with Boland logging a team-high 467 and 131 digs, while Madison Beasley (Gilbert, Ariz.) has recorded 463 assists and 128 digs. Emersen Belles (Gilbert, Ariz.) leads the team defensively with 258 digs and is also one of five Hornets to record at least 20 service aces.
