Liddell paces Hornets in road loss to Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. | Gerald Liddell (Cibolo. Texas) led four players in double figures for Alabama State as the Hornets dropped their third consecutive road game to open the season, falling to Missouri State 78-60 at JQH Arena on Saturday night.

Liddell finished the night 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor and picked up three steals, while Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) finished with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with a pair of blocked shots. Jordan O'Neal (Mobile, Ala.) chipped in with 11 points and a pair of blocked shots.

Juan Reyna (San Antonio, Texas) scored in double figures for the third consecutive game, adding 10 points with a pair of three-pointers for the Hornets who finished the night shooting 38.7 (24-of-62) percent from the floor. They also shot 21.1 (4-of-19) percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 (8-fo-12) percent from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, Isiaih Mosley led Missouri State (1-1) with 31 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the floor, while Gaige Prim finished with a double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Missouri State shot 42.9 (27-of-63) percent from the floor and 26.7 (8-of-30) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 84.2 (16-of-19) percent from the free throw line.
