ATHENS, Ga. |Â Ayana Emmanuel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led all scorers for Alabama State with 10 points and seven rebounds as the Hornets fell to Georgia 73-43 on Sunday afternoon inside Stegeman Coliseum.
The game was the final of a four-game road stretch for Alabama State (0-4) to start the season that included three SEC opponents.
Jayla Crawford (Birmingham, Ala.) came off the bench to add nine points in 20 minutes of action, hitting 3-of-5 shots from beyond the arc in a game where nine Hornets scored.
Tyesha Rudolph (Evergreen, Ala.) added four rebounds, three assists and three steals in 21 minutes, while
Hannah White (Columbus, Miss.) grabbed five rebounds along with four points off the bench.
Alabama State shot 25.8 (16-of-62) percent from the floor and 18.8 (3-of-16) percent from beyond the arc. They also finished 66.7 (8-of-12) percent from the free throw line. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs shot 41.3 (26-of-63) percent from the floor and 25.0 (3-of-12) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 75 (18-of-24) percent from the free throw line.
Reigan Richardson led three double figure scorers for Georgia with 16 points, while Javyn Nicholson added 13 and Que Morrison added 10.
UP NEXT
Alabama State plays their home opener on Sunday, November 28 at 1 pm against South Alabama. The game will be carried on the Hornet Sports Network and admission is $5, with the venue being mask mandatory.
