GAME NOTES
- Alabama State has won 11 consecutive meetings between the two schools, with their last loss being an 87-84 defeat in 2008. Both teams are coming off road games, with Alabama State playing Ohio State and Mobile playing College of Coastal Georgia.
- The Hornets have displayed a balanced attack so far this season, with 13 players averaging at least 10 minutes per game. Newcomers have provided much needed depth thus far, as transfers Kailya Jackson (Gainesville, Fla.), Jada Nneji (Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada), and Tamia Stallings (Brookhaven, Miss.) all average over 17 minutes.
- Saturday's matchup will begin a full week for the Hornets with three games in 10 days as they travel to take on North Carolina (Dec. 21) and Vanderbilt (Dec. 28) to end non-conference play.
- Reigning SWAC Freshman of the Year Farrah Pearson (Hazel Green, Ala.) is the lone Hornet to start all seven games on the season, as ASU has used a different lineup to start in each contest.
- Freshman Brazyll Watkins (Battle Creek, Mich.) finished with her first double digit outing with 11 points against Ohio State in just her fourth career game.
