MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State dropped their final game of the season-opening Stinger Classic to Notre Dame 13-0 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex Sunday morning.

Notre Dame scored a pair of runs in the first inning to take the early lead, before pulling away in the third inning with two more to push the lead to 5-0. The Fighting Irish added three more in the fourth, before ending the scoring in the fifth to put the game away.

Jamaica Flowers and Alex Massie each reached base against three Notre Dame (2-1) pitchers, with Massie being hit by a pitch. Payton Tidd (1-1) picked up the win for Notre Dame, working the middle two innings and striking out three.

Madison Myers (0-1) suffered the loss, working 2.1 innings and allowed five runs off of eight hits with a strikeout.

Alabama State returns to action Wednesday in Birmingham (Ala.) against Samford in a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
