BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a 7-0 decision to Samford at the Samford Tennis Center in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
Alabama State (2-2) dropped the doubles' point after falling at number and number three doubles, while the match at number two was halted with
Chris Andre and
Juan Rodriguez trailing 4-3. Meanwhile, in singles play, Samford picked up the win with the sweep although Andre pushed his match at number one singles to three sets before galling Rossouw Norval 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.
Ruan Du Preez dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 match at number two singles, while Rodriguez fell 6-3, 7-5 at number four.
Alabama State returns to action on the road February 14 against Troy.
