JACKSON, Miss. | Alabama State fell in the season finale on the road to Jackson State, dropping a 79-54 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest Saturday night.
The loss brought an end to the careers of four seniors including
Brandon Battle,
DJ Heath,
Kevion Stewart and
Mike Stone – all of whom were on the floor when the final horn sounded.
Battle led Alabama State with 14 points and 13 doubles, recording a double-double in his final game, while
LaTrell Tate added 10 off the bench for Alabama State who finished the night shooting 36.2 (17-for-47) percent from the floor and just 18.8 (3-for-16) percent from beyond the arc. They also finished the night shooting 63.0 (17-for-27) percent from the free throw line.
Meanwhile, Tristan Jarrett led Jackson State (11-5, 11-0 SWAC) with 22 points, pacing four players in double figures for the Tigers.
