- Alabama State looks to pick up their first win of the season, hitting the road to face Stetson in the first meeting between the two teams in school history.
- The Lady Hornets look to get on the board for the first time in two matches, as they were shutout by Presbyterian (1-0) and Jacksonville State (5-0) in their last two games.
- The trip for Alabama State will be the lone trip to the state of Florida this season and will be the first of two consecutive games on the road including at South Carolina State on September 3.
- Goalkeeper Sheila Sanchez (Castellon, Spain) was named the SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week after her performances on the road, coming up with 13 saves in a pair of games.
